Edwards proposing a criminology institute at Dalhousie, <em>University of Toronto Law Journal</em>, Vol. XIII Description An account of the resource This 21-page memorandum written by Professor John Ll.J Edwards in the late 50s details his written desire to create multiple criminology institutes to better address the studies of crime, criminology, sentencing and criminal law with a special interest in interdisciplinary approaches. This memorandum was rejected by Dalhousie University who, under tight budget constraits, could not pursue the creations of such institutes. Instead, this memorandum peaked the interests of the University of Toronto's Law Journal who had the memorandum published. This prompted the attention of the Attorney General in 1962 who then began a series of meetings with Ontario Universities legal representatives, and corrections representatives.
