The collection is an exploration of Lorde's identity as a Black woman and a lesbian, and the ways in which these intersecting identities shape her experiences and perspectives. Lorde uses powerful imagery and language to convey the complexity of her identity, describing herself as a "mythical beast" who embodies both fear and desire. The kaleidoscope is meant for the complexity and diversity of human experience, or to celebrate the beauty of individuality and difference, and the blackness is refer to audre lorde, who is a black lesbian poet. I tried to write the poem from the perspective of Lorde. In the poem, I praised black, it is power and might, and also the love that embraces everything. And the blackness in the poem has a rainbow of hue, which refers to different sexual orientations and diversities. Although political issues, including racism, homophobia, and violence against black females, they still tell their stories and stay true to themselves.
