The Latin Inscription: "Orate pro anima Roberti Doughty qui obiit iiio die Maii ao domini Mo CCCCo LXXXXo IIIo Ac pro anima | Matildis uxoris sue que obiit die ao domini Mo quorum animabus propicietur deus. " The English Translation: "Pray for the soul of Rober Doughty who died on the third day of May in the year of our Lord 1493 And for the soul | of Matilda his wife who died <on the ___> day <of month> in the year of our Lord 1<###> on whose souls may God have mercy. " (Translated by Bard Swallow) Description of Rubbing: This rubbing is in three sections. The left top section is a male facing right. He has loose wavy hair that goes to his shoulders and he has curved bangs. He is wearing robes that have a rounded crew neck many pleats and a bag hanging on the side. The bag has a rounded flap and vertical line decorations. There is almost no shading. The other section is a female at the right who is facing left. She is wearing a flowy headdress with two triangular humps and fabric that goes to her shoulders. Her dress is tight around her torso and arms and a little looser from the waist down. There is a belt that loops in the front center of her dress and goes all the way down the front. The last section is underneath the two characters and is a rectangle with two lines of Latin in a gothic font.
