The top center is a shield. The shield is broken into different sections. There is a line down the center and on the left it is split into 3 pieces. The center of the left is a chevron that has 3 emblems within it. It depicts Gardiner impaling Newdigate. The bottom of the rubbing is 4 lines of an inverted inscription. Both figures are standing on it. William is on the left and he is facing right with his hands in prayer. His head is on a helm and his hair is loose, to his shoulders and he has bangs. He has detailed typical armor for a knight. He has elaborate gorget, shoulder plates, pauldrons, taces, tuilles, full leg armor and sabatons. It is detailed with lots of crosshatch shading. Anne is on the right. She is facing left with her hands in prayer. She has a headdress and a ruffled collar. She has puffy shoulders but tight sleeves. Her long dress has many pleats and a detailed centerpiece with the second layer of the dress showing through. She is also very detailed and has crosshatched shading.
