Subject

Temporary Foreign Workers Program

Description

This data from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (name of organization at time of publication) represents the five provinces with the highest number of temporary
foreign workers. The data illustrates how policy changes to the TFWP affected the number of
people entering Canada as a temporary worker. For example, as indicated in the timeline, the numbers in most provinces peaked around 2006-2008, in conjunction with the Conservative Government's removal of employer regulations when hiring foreign workers. The data above also serves to illustrate the significant contribution migrant workers make to the Canadian labour force.
