Rubbing2024.59 - Wife of John Wybarne
Title
Rubbing2024.59 - Wife of John Wybarne
Description
Notes on the Parchment: "Ticehurst, 1510" on the front and "Rubbing.8" on the back
Description of Rubbing: She is facing right with her hands in prayer. She has a long detailed dress with slight cross hatched shading, folds and pleats in the skirt and no feet are showing. The sleeves are tight to her arms with details around the wrist.
There is a detailed belt that hangs down the front of the dress almost to the floor with tassels on the end. Her wimple is long past her shoulders and looks as if there is a lace or detailed trim that matches the belt.
Matches Rubbing2024.61 and Rubbing2024.60 - they are very similar but not identical. She is one of John Wybarne's wives either Edith or Agnes, it does not signify who was on the left or right of him.
