Description
Scholemaster to Charles Waldegrave Esquire Inscription: "Here lyeth William Todde late scholemaster to Charles Waldegrave Esquire who deceased the eleventhe day of marche an dni 1585 In whose perpetuall memorye this monument was erected by his loving friend William Napper of Ponckenoll in the county of Dorsetshire"
Description of Rubbing: The rubbing is split between two aspects.
The top is a man kneeling at a prayer desk with hands praying facing left. The desk has diamond decorations on the side and an open book on top of it. He has short hair closely cut to his head.
His robes go to his feet and one shoe is visible. His sleeves are tight to his arm with 3 buttons at the cuffs and buttons down the collar and the middle of the robe. There is a cartwheel ruff that is thin and close to his neck.
It is very detailed with cross hatching and shading details.
Below this there is a rectangle with 6 lines of gothic style font.
