M S Here lyeth interred Ms Anne Vnderhill daughter of Richard Leuer of the title Leier in the countie of Lane: Esq. late wife of Thomas Shuttleworth Esq. by whom thee had issue 3 sonne & 3 daughters riz: Richard Shuttleworth of Gawthropp in ye said countie Esq Nicholas Shuttleworth of Forcett Esq. & Vghtred Shuttleworth Esq. deceased late councellor at lawe and one of yenBench Honorable scociene of Lincolnes Inne Anne married to James Anderton of Claiton in ye said countie Esq. The Ladie Ellenor married to Sir Ralphe Ashton of Whalley in ye said Barronet & Elizabeth married to Mathew Whitfeild of Whitfeild in ye countie of Northumber Esq. Shee depted this morall life in ye faith of our Lord Jesus Christe hope of a blessed resurrection to eternall glorey 12 day May A: DNI 1637 being of ye age of 68 yeares. Death is the way unto life.
Notes on the Parchment: "Forcett Anne Vnderhill 1637"
Description of Rubbing: Most of the rubbing is a large inscription that is in the middle of decoration. It is under arches with figures of Labour and Rest on their own pillars. There is a pillar on each side that connects the arch. The pillars are also decorated with pedestals on each end.
There is a woman laying at the bottom on a set of stairs or platform and is laying on two cushions. She is facing up with her hands in prayer across her chest. She is wearing a long dress with a bodice and a small cartwheel ruff. Her shoes are visible and she is wearing gloves.
