Description
Daughter and heiress of Robert Ingleton Esq.
The English translation of the 3 lines of Latin inscription:
"The said Jane had issue one son George Terrell who was 27 years old when Jane died."
Notes on the Parchment:
Left side note: "Margaret Dymoke, Clemens Beaumonte, Isabella Cantiliupe, 16 children. "
Right side note: "Jane Ignylton daughter of Robert Ingylton Tyrrell firsts husband Alexander St. John second husband/ Robet Ingylton Chancellor of Exchequer to Edward IV Died 1472."
Description of Rubbing: She is standing and facing forward with her hands in prayer. There are two rings one on each hand. She has a Paris headdress on with no hair showing. She has an ornamental collar with tear detailed puff shoulders. She has tight sleeves with ruffled wrist cuffs. The middle of the robes have looped fasteners going down to about her hips.
There is a Book of Hours (book with five wounds on it) that is hanging to approximately her ankles. Rounded shoes are seen at the bottom standing on the grass. She is standing on 3 lines of inscription.
There is a lot of crosshatching and shading detail.
