This research proposal was submitted to the Canada Council for approval sometime in the early 1970s. No date is listed in this submission. As Director of the Centre for Criminology, Professor Gordon Watson co-ordinated this study ofthe operation of the criminal justice system as a whole. The 80 page document was signed by principal investigators Bernard Dickens, Anthony Doob, Richard Ericson, James Giffen, John Hagan, James Wilkins and Co-ordinator, Gordon Watson.
This longitudinal study would oversee the controversial publishing of Richard Ericson's research on the Peel Regional Police Force.
