Inscription: In Latin:
"Isto sub marmore corpora requiescunt humata Rogeri Fel-|
thorpis qui obiit quinto die mens<is> Aprilis anno domini Mo CC [...] |
. L . o quar<to> et Cecilie uxoris eiusdem quorum animabus propic<ietur deus amen>. "
The English Translation:
"Below this marble rest the buried bodies of Roger Felthorp who died the fifth day of the month of April in the year of our Lord 1[...]54 and Cecilie his wife, on whose souls <may God have mercy> "

Description of Rubbing: The rubbing encompasses two large characters with smaller ones in front and they are all on top of a rectangular box with 3 lines of Latin inscription.
On the left is the large character of Roger facing forward. His hands in prayer. He has short loose hair on the top of his head . He is wearing a tunic that goes to his feet and it has pleats and a belt.
There are 11 male children in front of him in two rows that are smaller versions of him except you can see their feet.
Cecily is on the right and is the larger female character. She is wearing a headdress and a long tunic with a belt. She is also facing forward with her hands in prayer.
There are 5 smaller versions of her representing the daughters in front in one row.
