Promotional poster for the Festival of the Avant Garde, held in New York City,
1965. Presented by Norman J. Seaman in association with Charlotte Moorman, the festival featured performances by numerous avant-garde composers and performers, including Robert Ashley, Alvin Lucier, Gordon Mumma, Max Neuhaus, Nam June Paik, Morton Feldman, John Cage, and La Monte Young. The poster lists participants and features printed facsimile signatures arranged vertically in the center. Performances took place at Judson Hall and other New York venues throughout September 1965.
