Description
Poster for the Sixth Annual New York Avant Garde Festival: A Parade, organized and directed by Charlotte Moorman in 1968. The event took the form of a live procession through New York City streets, merging avant-garde performance, music, and public art. Participants included Nam June Paik, John Cage, Phillip Glass, Ay-o, Jacques Delacroix, Robert Watts, Robert Ruman, Bill Carruthers, George Brecht, and numerous others. The poster is printed in red with a map of Manhattan as background, overlaid with the event title in lowercase typography and facsimile signatures of participating artists arranged in vertical columns.
