10 April 1957: Letter to Dulles

This letter for delivery to the US Secretary of State mentions that “the Canadian Government has more than once complained of the methods employed” by the Congressional subcommittees in reference to the release of Canadian names and information. They once again request that any information regarding Canadians be sent to the Canadian government “so that the allegations can be investigated and dealt with in Canada.” This letter makes repeated references to American failings in the past and, should the Americans fail to comply with their demands, concludes that “the Canadian government must reserve the right in future not to supply security information concerning Canadian citizens to any United States government agency.”
