Sixty Years at the Centre for Criminology

Six decades ago, the journey of the Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies began with Professor John LI. J Edwards as its founding director. The Centre would move between three different locations before finding its current home at the Canadiana Gallery. As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we invite you to delve into the past through our captivating digital exhibition – a living testament to the rich history of the Centre. 

Take a historical tour of the rich history deriving from the Centre’s archival materials, a collection that is currently housed and accessible to interested students and faculty at the Centre for Criminology’s Library. Our exhibition tells the story of the evolution of the Centre, capturing the essence of its early records from the late 1950s and chronicling its achievements through the dynamic decades until the 2000s.
