Dental Prosthesis in the Modern Period: America
The last frontier of pre-19th century dental prosthesis that will be covered in this exhibition is that of the United States of America. Firstly, histories and anecdotes for the early developemnts of prosthesis will be disseminated. Then, this exhibit will take a closer look at the work of John Greenwood, the infamous dentist of George Washington, who is also credited as the creator of his dentures. Lastly, this portion of the exihibit will summarize the denture material-related advanacements of the 19th century such as the introduction of vulcanite bases and porcelain teeth.
