The University of Toronto Libraries system is the largest academic library in Canada. With an annual acquisitions budget of $32 million, its research and special collections comprise over 12 million print volumes, 5.6 million microforms, 17,000 journal subscriptions, and rich collections of rare books, archival materials, special media and cartographic materials. The system provides access to more than 1.9 million electronic books, journals and primary source materials. Wide-ranging collections, facilities and staff expertise reflect the breadth of research and instructional programs at the University, and attract unique donations of books and archival materials, which in turn draw scholars for research and graduate work.
