UTL at Downsview

A high-density storage and preservation facility, UTL at Downsview, was constructed in north Toronto in 2004 to ease the overcrowding of shelves and provide space for new acquisitions. Additional pods added in 2015 increased Downsview’s storage capacity to five million items, easily retrieved for quick delivery to researchers through an online request system.
