The Canadian Far Eastern Newsletter
January – February, 1983
Toronto, Ontario
The Canadian Far Eastern Newsletter was a continuation of the Shanghai Newsletter Endicott had published at the behest of Zhou Enlai before his return to Canada in 1947. First published in January 1948 it continued almost without interruption up until the year before James G. Endicott’s death in 1993. The Newsletter attempted to convince its Christian readership to reconsider the significance of revolutionary developments in Asia beyond the simple dichotomy of East vs. West characteristic of mainstream political discourse during the Cold War.
