On furlough in Canada from 1941-1944, James G. Endicott made hundreds of public addresses in which he urged his fellow Canadians to support Chiang Kai-shek’s heroic defense of China in the face of Japanese imperial aggression. The Guerrilla Song (游擊隊歌 you ji dui ge)  was translated and transcribed for a Canadian audience by Jim, who was known to dive into a heartfelt rendition of the musical number, first in Chinese and then in English.
