A multi-subject essayistic work on philology, history, ethnography, 'All-Russian' culture, and Ukrainian politics during World War I, written after the Bolshevik Revolution by Prince Aleksandr Volkonsky, while he was in Italy in exile, where he addresses the Ukrainian separatist movement and 'Ukrainian propaganda'.
