The Fields Institute was founded in 1992 and was originally located at the University of Waterloo. The Institute relocated to the University of Toronto in 1995 when the building on College Street was completed. The mission of the Fields Institute is to enhance mathematical activity through the promotion of collaboration between mathematicians and users of mathematics. [18]
