The Engineering Building stood for 88 years and was known fondly as the Little Red Schoolhouse ("Skulehouse"). But the building was showing its age and in 1960, the Galbraith Building was constructed to replace it. The Engineering Building was demolished in 1966 to make space for the new Medical Sciences Building. Remnants of the original building have been preserved and remain on display at the Galbraith Building.
